The Latest Facebook Changes for January 2018
Facebook continues to make changes to its setting and feeds on a regular basis.
If you do a large amount of business via Facebook or rely on posting content organically, these changes will make a huge difference to your overall results.
Check out the video below.
How will these changes affect you and your business?
If you’re using Facebook organically (free) in your business, and getting great reach, but little engagement (likes, comments shares etc), it means that your posts are likely to become invisible to your audience.
This change will push you to start or increase your spend on Facebook, after all, it is a business.
The update also mentioned that this will transition people to spending less time on Facebook. So if Facebook is your main or only channel of advertising, this will force you to not only use other channels but change and amend your marketing mix.
What can I do to improve my results on Facebook?
The key thing here is to make sure that your content is engaging. The new algorithm will allow engaging content to continue to appear in the feed, but it’s highly likely it will be reduced.
This is a great opportunity to start to play around with content. Videos, blog content, infographics and more …. the more you play, the more likely you’ll have an understanding of what works best to generate an action from your audience.
The other thing you can do is to start paying for advertising. The benefit here is that you’ll reach a much larger audience, with the greater potential for engagement with your audience (if it’s worthy of engagement).
Couple these together, and you can start to deliver on your social strategy.
